‘Footloose- The Musical’

‘Footloose- The Musical’ The sun may not be dazzling us this week but students from Bridgend College will once again, dazzle their audiences with this exuberant and energy-packed show. After their sell-out productions of We Will Rock You and Disco Inferno, this fast-paced drama is presented by a dynamic young cast, and filled with dance and 80s anthems guaranteed to get you on your feet, including the title track ‘Footloose’, ‘Holding on for a Hero’ and ‘Let's Hear It for the Boy’.

This musical spectacular tells the classic tale of teen rebellion and repression when streetwise Ren and his family move from Chicago to a small town in the West of America, where rock music and dancing are illegal. Ren and his classmates want to do away with this ban, especially since the senior prom is around the corner, but only Ren has the courage to initiate a battle to abolish this law and revitalise the spirit of the repressed townspeople, held back by the memory of a tragedy.

Footloose the Musical offers good value for money. It will get you singing in your seats, and bopping and stomping in the aisles. Great family entertainment.
