New drama at The Riverfront

September will see SHAM’S Theatre coming to the Studio Theatre at The Riverfront to perform The Garden on Friday 22 September at 7.45pm.
Written and performed by Jonathan Young, the show has received rave reviews from Edinburgh and the story starts with Jay who returns from Bosnia to clear out his great-uncle’s house, hoping to make a fresh start. But sorting through his uncle’s papers, he soon discovers family history repeating itself as first tragedy, then farce…
From the battlefields of the First World War to the chaos of Bosnia and a long-forgotten garden, comes a true story of love lost and found, shell-shock and the power of memory. Inspired by the celebrated Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Garden has been acclaimed as a performance of great sensitivity, imagination and humour, featuring stunning video design and original music.
