This Christmas Odyssey Theatre in collaboration with the BBC National Chorus of Wales will bring you The Spirit of Christmas by Gaynor Lougher. Performing for four nights in the Weston Studio at Wales Millennium Centre from 30th November to 3rd December 2005 this exciting production is sure to put a smile on your face this Christmas. The Spirit of Christmas is a play with music and a delightful celebration of families, good memories and Christmas joy. Megan is on a mission to find out about her grandmother Rita who emigrated with her family from Cardiff in the 50s. What follows is an explosive concoction of drama, tales of tradition, music, sign language, singing and enjoyment for all. Writer and Director Ms. Lougher said: “This has been an exciting project for all of us, with the challenge of combining the infectious performance energy of Odyssey Theatre with the vocal talents of members of the BBC National Chorus of Wales, the creativity and commitment of the music students from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the youth and enthusiasm of the pupils of Meadowbank Special School” Education and Community Manager for the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales said: “We are delighted to be working with Odyssey Theatre for the first time. This collaborative project will benefit and enhance local talent in the community whilst also offering a new and exciting opportunity for members of BBC National Chorus of Wales.” This family production will delight all ages, bringing new audiences to Odyssey and the BBC National Chorus of Wales as well as welcoming old ones back.
