Welsh scripts wanted for Sherman’s Script Slam at the National Eisteddfod |
![]() Sherman Cymru are inviting submissions of ten minute plays or scenes which will be performed as part of their annual project, ScriptSlam `Steddfod at this year’s National Eisteddfod in Denbighshire. Sherman Cymru will be shortlisting six scripts to be developed and performed in Theatr y Maes in August, in front of a panel of experts and an enthusiatic audience. Performances will take place on the Monday and Wednesday of the Eisteddfod week at 2pm, and in each session the audience will choose their favourite play. Each daily winner will receive a collection of playscripts and the opportunity to develop as a writer with Sherman Cymru. Literary Manager, Sian Summers said: “This is a great opportunity for those who would like to write a short play, to see their work performed (perhaps for the first time) at the festival. You may have an idea which you want to develop and this is a great platform to try out something new , or it may be that you’ve never heard your words out loud. Either way, it’s a fun and unpressurised way to see your ideas staged” The closing date for submissions is June 17th, 2013. As well as searching for exciting new Welsh work, Sherman Cymru would also like to hear from actors and directors who would like to work on the project with Sherman Cymru.
