To celebrate the creative talents of people from all around the County Borough, Caerphilly County Borough Council will be hosting a Festival of Dance from Monday 7th to Friday 11th July at Blackwood Miners’ Institute.Caerphilly County Borough’s Annual Community Dance Showcase will take place on Monday 7th, Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th at 7pm. The evenings include performances by community and school dance groups of all ages and abilities from around the county borough that meet with qualified dance tutors on a weekly basis to enjoy the physical, creative and social benefits of dance. On all three nights there will be performances of a new piece, 'Welcome to my World’, created as part of BMI and Arts Development's Half Term Dance School featuring 30 young dancers from Caerphilly, with music by Geraint Williams. On Thursday 10th and Friday 11th July, pupils from Janet Stephens’ School of Dance will be performing their 2008 Ballet Showcase featuring children of all ages who have been preparing pieces of Tap, Ballet & Jazz to show to family and friends. So, come along to Blackwood Miners Institute and support the local people of Caerphilly County Borough as they entertain you with dance combined with lively music.
