| Education 1999-2002 BMus Hons Second Class First Division) Royal Welsh College (Classical Piano) of Music and Drama Performance Experience: - Studied classical piano with Paul Armstrong, (a pupil of Peter Katin and John Lill) for over 5 years. - Co-leader and keyboard player for highly professional function band called Groove Grand Central, who perform songs by Stevie Wonder, Jamiroquai and Earth, Wind and Fire and have played for several large events and parties including the Liberty Night Party in London. - Keyboard player for the Christopher Rees Band. I have appeared with them in Manchester for In the City, at the Spitz and Borderline in London and at Ronnie Scotts in Birmingham. I have also appeared with them in various performances around Cardiff and South Wales, including the opening ceremony for the WRITS (Welsh Record Industry Awards). We are currently in the process of recording our debut album. - Other performance experience includes pianist for a production of Assassins, written by Sondheim, directed by Chris Monks and pianist and Harmonium player for the English Theatre Group of Zug, Switzerland in a production of the Three Penny Opera, by Kurt Weil, directed by David Honigsberg. Musical Experience: - Director/Composer/Arranger for a production of Twelfth Night, directed by Paul Jepson. - Musical Director/Arranger for a new contemporary musical called Missed Saigon, written by Chris Redmond. - Founder of contemporary piano ensemble for the purpose of performing Steve Reichs 6 Pianos and have since joined the extra list for Piano Circus, a highly acclaimed piano ensemble. Radio: - I have twice broadcast live on BBC Radio 2, as the keyboard player with the Christopher Rees Band, in session on the Janice Long show in Birmingham and Cardiff. Skills: - Professional and Reliable. - Proficient at Sight-reading. - Experienced in many genres including Classical, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Funk and Latin. - Proficient with various keyboards, including Fender Rhodes, Hammond Organ, Harmonium and EMU ESI- 4000 sampler. - Versatile. |
